An internationally respected credential that gives students priority access to the world's leading universities — earned through steady, well-supported progress rather than a single exam.

Why the OSSD

A credential the world respects

01

Priority admission across Canada

As Ontario students, THIA graduates receive priority consideration at every Canadian university — Ontario is home to 80%+ of the country's top institutions.

02

A stronger U.S. application

Many leading U.S. universities waive the SAT for Ontario-diploma students, and local-student standing sharpens your competitive edge.

03

Recognised worldwide

Like A-Level and IB, the OSSD is an internationally recognised secondary credential accepted by universities across the UK, Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore.

A Fairer Measure

Continuous assessment, not a single exam

A student's grade reflects a full year of work — assignments, essays, quizzes, presentations and exams — so ability is measured from every angle.
